Section Extract
This is the Product Page section of the Complete Shopify Store Audit. It covers the media section, what must be above the fold, variant selection logic, content behind modals, upsell rules, UGC placement, and what good looks like end-to-end.

Product Page

Ninety percent of visitors never scroll past the product images. If the image section fails, nothing else on the page matters. Start there. Fix everything else second.

Overlaying the Media

Above the Fold, Before Scrolling

Variant Selection

Don't auto-select size. Prompt the visitor to choose. This forces engagement and reduces the wrong-size return rate.

Exception
Don't do this with color. Color is tied to image rendering, auto-selecting a default color is correct. Size is not tied to imagery in most cases, so leaving it unselected is the right call.

UGC

Inside the Gallery

UGC video alongside product shots, treated as a first-class media asset.

Floating Bottom-Right

As the visitor scrolls, a product-specific UGC video appears in the corner. Starts muted. Plays on scroll. Visitor can unmute.

What good looks like
The media section is complete, fast, and consistent. Every niche-required shot exists. The visitor can zoom, scroll through the gallery, and change color, all without leaving the image area. The add to cart is always visible. Variant selection is intentional. Everything that could be a block of text is behind a trigger. Upsells are conditional. Reviews are prominent. The page educates without overwhelming.

Which of your leaks is actually costing the most?

A checklist shows you what to look for. It cannot tell you which leak is bleeding the most revenue on your store, or in what order to fix. The Store Autopsy ranks the 20 to 70 leaks actually costing you money, top 3 surfaced, delivered in about 2 weeks. $800, credited in full toward the fix. Proof, not opinions.
